Rare french chasuble circa 1670 to 1690 all embroidered complete set
Reference : V052
A superb and rare French chasuble from the Louis XIV period
Circa 1670 to 1690
Entirely embroidered in satin stitch with silk chenille on a brocaded lampas fabric
Symmetrical floral motifs within four-lobed cartouches
The embroidery frames certain motifs on the lampas
Very fine quality
The colours are bright
Along with the stole, maniple and chalice veil, I am including a non-original burse made of lampas from the same period
The set is in very good overall condition, with a few rare holes in the lampas, which is entirely negligible for a chasuble of this quality and age
